PACS / Sectra

As of November 2017, the Hospital uses a new PACS system called Sectra.

Sectra Client

To access Sectra directly, you can download the new Sectra IDS7 PACS client to your (UPHS-managed) office desktop device or home-read workstation:

(1) Be on a UPHS device.
(2) Connect to the Penn network (onsite or via the new F5 VPN).
(3) Type “pacs” (or https://sectrapacs.uphs.upenn.edu/ids7) from your web browser.
(4) On first use, approve the installation of the software and wait for it to complete.

That’s it! Contact SPOC (215-552-8110) if any problems.

Transferring Data to the Cluster

Data can be transferred directly from PACS (or from scanners) to the cluster via DICOM SCP Receiver protocol (aka “AE Titles”) in two ways:

XNAT - CfN's XNAT system

Orthanc - If you don't need the full functionality of XNAT, there's a simple DICOM SCP server running on the picsl-xnat server that's useful for getting data to the cluster.

Please contact the admins for details.
