The
CfN reviews and prioritizes Prodev (pilot project) funding requests
for fMRI experiments. Potential applicants are now required to present
their plan for a Prodev project at a CfN Forum. Interested
parties should contact the CfN to schedule this
presentation. To improve accountability of the approval process,
we also require
completion of a brief online application
that will be reviewed by the committee on several criteria including
the qualifications of the investigator, feasibility of the project,
innovation and need. |

Please
recognize that Prodev scans are a very limited resource of 120 hours
per year, and are intended to support the development of
pilot data for a grant proposal. Accordingly, we will require a
brief status report at the end of the funding period describing the
outcome
in terms
of results, publications and, most importantly, grant applications.
In addition, once a Prodev project has completed scanning
and data analysis and the final report, the PI will be invited to
present the results at a CfN Chalk Talk. Since there is greater demand
than
availability
for
pilot scans, we will also
require that the scans be used up in the academic year in which
they are funded. This should maximize the resources available to
investigators
with impending grant applications. Finally, each investigator can
only maintain one active Prodev account at a time. |
