Perfusion fMRI may be used to obtain a non-invasive, quantified measure of cereberal blood flow. The properties of the perfusion signal make it well suited to the study of slow changes in neural activity. We are using perfusion fMRI to study the changes in neural activity that accompany perceptual learning, such as being able to classify a face as belonging to one group or another.
